How best to use my Series 2 Coffee Cup?
In case you ever lose your Chilly's Series 2 Coffee Cup manual, which is enclosed inside the box, all instructions for taking care of your cup can be found below:
- Wash before first use with hot soapy water.
- The coffee lid may be stiff before first hot drink use.
- Do not fill with liquids over 90 degrees Celsius/194 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Do not close the drinking hole with liquids above 60 degrees Celsius/140 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Do not put your coffee cup on its side or upside down with hot liquids inside.
- Do not shake your coffee cup with hot liquids inside
- We recommend ensuring the lid is tightly screwed on and transporting your cup in an upright position to prevent leakages.
- Always take care when using hot liquids. Temperatures can remain high for several hours.
- All parts are hand wash only. Use hot soapy water, or bicarbonate of soda(UK)/baking powder(US) for a thorough clean.
- Clean all parts regularly.
- Do not leave any organic products such as milk or orange juice that can spoil in the coffee cup overnight as this may cause pressure to build and potentially damage the coffee cup and lid.
- Do not put your coffee cup in the microwave, freezer or dishwasher.
Our Series 2 Coffee Cups are perfect for taking your drinks on the go. Whether it's for those long commutes or keeping warm when it's chilly outside. To ensure you are getting the best out of your cup, it's important to make sure the cup is assembled correctly. Here's how you can check:
Each purchase of a full Series 2 Coffee Cup, will come with a ‘retainer’ to ensure the lid is sealed airtight. Once the retainer is attached, it needs to be locked into place using a coin placed in the slot.
Each product will have its unique packaging. Assembly guidelines are provided on the inside of your Chilly's box.
*For the best results, we recommend first filling it with hot water to heat the inside, then emptying it before filling your cup with a hot drink. Please note that your drink will only stay hot relative to the temperature of the drink when it was first poured in.
Is the Series 2 Coffee Cup leak-proof?
Chilly's Series 2 Coffee Cups have an innovative new twist mechanism that creates a very tight seal. Whilst they are very good at preventing leaks, we cannot guarantee they are fully leakproof at very high temperatures or if they are fully inverted or shaken. For this reason, we recommend that you transport your Series 2 Coffee Cup in an upright position.
How are Chilly's Series 2 Coffee Cups assembled and disassembled?
Assembly
1. Align the drinking holes on the head and lid.
2. Press the lid onto the head until it clicks.
3. Insert retainer on the inside and rotate using a coin until it clicks.
Disassembly
1. You must remember to remove the round retainer on the inside of your lid. To remove, use a coin to rotate the retainer until it clicks and falls out of place.

My Series 2 Coffee Cup Lid is stiff, what can I do?
Like most things in life, our Coffee Cups loosen up with a little bit of love and warmth!
Here are some tips below which should help loosen up your lid:
After assembling your Coffee Cup for the first time, we recommend filling the cup with freshly boiled water and leaving it to sit with the lid on and the drinking hole open for at least 15 minutes. The steam should warm up the lid and help loosen it considerably.
We've also found that twisting the lid open and closed for a few minutes continuously each time you wash it also helps.
If the stiffness persists, please reach out to our Customer Service Team at: support@chillys.com or contact us via Live Chat through the widget at the bottom right hand side of our webpage and we’ll be happy to help.
Is the Series 2 Coffee Cup engravable?
Yes! - you can get a personalised engraving on certain designs of the Chilly's Series 2 Coffee Cup.
(Patterned, Emma Bridgewater and Chrome coated products cannot be engraved due to the delicate nature of the material).
You can have a maximum of 8 characters, either upper or lower case from the Latin alphabet. A space also counts as a character.
Common symbols that appear on your keyboard (e.g. # and ?) can be engraved, but more complex symbols (e.g. hearts, stars, and emojis) can't be used. If you try to submit one of these more complex symbols, it will be engraved as a question mark. If you have any doubts about your engraving, please email support@chillys.com
Please note, your engraving will be on the opposite side of the Coffee Cup to the engraved Chilly's logo.
The cups are engraved by our master engraver in England and will be a maximum of 34.2mm wide and up to 4.7mm high.
Please be aware that engraving will add one working day to your estimated delivery date.
If you have your Chilly's product engraved, it is not valid for a refund for any reason except manufacturing defects.
Can you put the Series 2 Coffee Cup in the dishwasher?
No - The Series 2 Coffee cups are not suitable for cleaning in dishwashers.
We recommend cleaning all parts of your Coffee Cup after each use with hot soapy water, please do not leave the coffee cup to soak for a long time as this can cause paint damage and can lead to the vacuum becoming ineffective.
Our Series 2 Coffee Cups can be disassembled for cleaning purposes. We find that doing so after every few uses is enough. You should not be required to disassemble your cup after each use, however, you are more than welcome to do so.
Please DO NOT use Milton sterilising fluid as this can affect the products.
For a very thorough clean please use bicarbonate soda(UK)/baking powder(US). Whilst Chilly's Coffee Cups are made of high-grade stainless steel which preserves the flavour and freshness of your drinks, if they are not cleaned regularly it can lead to a smell or taste developing.
We also sell Chilly's Cleaning brushes here which are great for cleaning both the Bottles and Coffee Cups.
