How best to use my Chilly's Series 2 Bottle?

In case you ever lose your Chilly's Series 2 Bottle manual, which is enclosed inside the box, all instructions for taking care of your bottle can be found below.

  • Wash before first use with hot soapy water
  • Do not fill with liquids over 90 degrees Celsius/194 degrees Fahrenheit
  • Do not over-tighten the collar or lid
  • Always ensure the collar is attached before filling your bottle with liquid
  • Always take care when using hot liquids. Temperatures can remain high for several hours
  • Do not shake your bottle with hot liquids inside
  • All parts are hand wash only. Use hot soapy water, or bicarbonate soda(UK)/baking powder(US) for a thorough clean
  • Clean all parts regularly
  • Do not leave any organic products such as milk or orange juice that can spoil in the bottle overnight as this may cause pressure to build and potentially damage the bottle and lid
  • Do not put your bottle in the microwave, freezer or dishwasher

For keeping your drinks cold we recommend filling your bottle with pre-chilled water from your fridge. Alternatively, you can fill your bottle directly from the tap and top up with ice cubes.

*Please note, that placing your Chilly's bottle in the fridge or freezer will do nothing to change the temperature of the liquids inside due to the double-wall vacuum. 

 

 

Are the Series 2 Bottles leak-proof?

Yes, our Series 2 bottles are 100% leak-proof - and they come with a new, improved design. The o-ring seal in the lid is built in, which means that your bottle is sealed even more securely.

How is the Chilly's Series 2 Bottle assembled?

1. Attach the loop to the lid and apply pressure until it clicks into place.

2. Ensure that the collar is attached tightly to the body of the bottle. In order to do this, use the lid to tighten the collar against the body of the bottle, then unscrew the lid from the collar. It may help to hold the collar in place when unscrewing the lid.

3. Do not over-tighten the lid against the collar when screwing it in.

Do the Series 2 Bottles fit in car cup holders?

Gone are the days when you'd have to resort to gulping down a bottle of lukewarm water from under the back seat; our Series 2 Bottles will keep your drinks cold (or hot), regardless of how stuffy it gets inside the car.

Please note that our bottles will not fit all car cup holders. It's best to check our Series 2 Bottle dimensions below.

 

 

What is the size and weight of the Series 2 Bottle?

  • 350ml – 7.5cm wide and 197mm tall. The weight of this bottle is 251g
  • 500ml – 7.5cm wide and 244mm tall. The weight of this bottle is 390g
  • 1 Litre – 8.7cm wide and 311mm tall. The weight of this bottle is 485g.

Are the Series 2 Bottle Collars and Lids compatible across all sizes?

Yes! The Chilly's Series 2 Bottle Collar and Lids are compatible across all sizes of the Series 2 range, making it easier than ever to customise your bottle. Mix and match to your heart’s content.

 

Please note, if you'd like to convert your Flip Bottle to a leak-proof you'll need to purchase both a Collar AND Lid here.

 

 

What are the Series 2 Bottles made from and are they BPA-Free?

The Series 2 bottles are made from high grade stainless steel with a powder coated main body on the outside. The new collar around the neck of the bottle is made from plastic infused with a BioCote additive.

The drinking surfaces on all our Series 2 products contain an antimicrobial additive that reduces microbes by up to 99.99%. Read more about the science behind it here.
Another new addition to the Series 2 Bottles is the silicon base that will prevent the bottle from slipping on surfaces as well as a carry loop which makes it easy to carry around.

 

And yes - Chilly's Series 2 Bottles are BPA-Free!

 

 

Can I personalise my Series 2 Bottle?

Yes, you can!

There are a variety of ways to personalise your Series 2 Bottle. These include adding an engraving, or customising the colour of the collar or loop on the Product Preview page before adding to your basket.

 

Spare Series 2 Loops and Collars can be purchased here.

 

ENGRAVING: You can have a maximum of 8 characters, either upper or lower case from the Latin alphabet. A space also counts as a character.


Common symbols that appear on your keyboard (e.g. # and ?) can be engraved, but more complex symbols (e.g. hearts, stars and emojis) can't be used. If you try to submit one of these more complex symbols, it will be engraved as a question mark. If you have any doubts about your engraving, please contact us here: support@chillys.com


The engraved Chilly's logo will be on the opposite side of the bottle.

 

Please be aware that engraving will add one working day to your estimated delivery date.
If you have your bottle personalised, it is not valid for a refund for any reason except manufacturing defects.

 

*Please note, custom combinations of Collars and Loops are currently unavailable and patterned bottles such as the House of Sunny, Elements and Liberty designs are not eligible for personalisation.

 

 

Do you need to buy a lid/cap separately for the Series 2 Bottles?

All of our Series 2 Bottles come with a lid and loop included, so there's no need to purchase one separately. However, you can customise your bottle by purchasing a lid with a different colour loop.

 

Please note that Chilly's Original Bottle lids and carabiners are not compatible with the Series 2 products.

 

 

Does the Series 2 Bottle Loop include a Lid?

Yes! - As pictured on the product preview images, the Series 2 Bottle Loop will include the Stainless Steel Lid.

Please note, if you're buying a Series 2 Loop/Lid for your Series 2 Flip Bottle, you'll also need to buy a Series 2 Collar to allow compatibility

 

 

Are the Chilly's Series 2 handles/loops removable?

No - Despite the fact that the loops are customisable they are not removable. Once you have inserted the coloured loop into your lid, you will not be able to remove it. This is to ensure that the handle is attached securely.

If you wish at any point to change the colour of your loop/handle, you will be required to purchase a new lid from the accessories page.

 

 

What does the Series 2 Bottle lid/cap look like and what is it made from?

The Series 2 Bottles have a newly designed lid that features a threaded lid and handle. Both the inside of the lid and handle are made from plastic while the outside of the lid is made from stainless steel. Unlike the original Chilly's Bottles, the o-ring is built into the collar to make for an even more secure seal.

Are Chilly's Series 2 Bottles dishwasher safe?

No - the Chilly's Series 2 Bottles are not suitable for dishwashers.


We recommend cleaning your bottle after each use with hot soapy water, but please do not leave the bottle to soak. For a very thorough clean please use bicarbonate soda(UK)/baking powder(US) with water. We also sell Chilly's Bottles brushes on our website which are great for cleaning all Chilly's Bottles!

When not using your bottle, we recommend storing it without the cap on.

 

 

Do the Carabiners or Original Bottle Lids fit the Series 2 Bottles?

No - as our design has completely evolved for the Series 2 range, the carabiner will not fit around the neck of the bottle as this is too wide.

Don't worry, they will still be available for purchase for our Original Bottles!

 

Original Bottle Lids are also not compatible with any of the Series 2 range.

 

 

Where are Series 2 Bottles made?

Chilly's Bottles is a UK based business and we are proud to say that our Chilly's Series 2 products were designed here in the UK by Studio Wood. Our products are manufactured in China.

Our factory is certified to ISO 9001 standards and is also monitored to comply with the BSCI (business social compliance initiative).

 

 

Can you buy Series 2 Bottles in shops?

Yes you can! - Our Series 2 Bottles are available in a range of stores in the UK, across Europe, the Middle East and New Zealand.

Can Series 2 Bottles keep drinks hot/cold?

Up to 24 hours cold is based on the water being very cold when poured into your bottle.

Up to 12 hours hot is based on filling your Chilly's Bottle with boiling hot water and keeping it shut. Results will significantly vary based on the temperature of the drink put in the bottle and how many times it's opened.

We recommend for best results filling your bottle with boiling water first to heat the inside, then emptying out the boiling water before filling your bottle with a hot drink.

*Up to 12 hours hot is based on filling your bottle with boiling hot water and keeping it shut. 

 

 

What happens to the outside/outer-shell of a Series 2 Bottle when filled?

The outside of a Series 2 Bottle will remain a neutral temperature when filled with either hot or cold drinks. Due to the double-wall vacuum technology, the outside of the bottle will not become hot or cold when filled while maintaining the temperature inside.

How recyclable are the Series 2 Bottles?

It’s great to hear that you’re planning on recycling your Chilly’s Bottle! We can confirm that like our Original Bottle, the main body of the bottle is recyclable, as is the collar. The silicone base however is not and will need to be removed along with the lid prior to recycling.

 

Recycling your Chilly's Bottle has never been easier, thanks to our Refreshed Scheme. Our take back scheme provides you with a free shipping label to send back any Chilly’s product that is no longer used so that we can recycle it for you.

*Please note, the Take Back Scheme is currently unavailable, however we are pleased to let you know that there are plans to bring it back. Whilst there isn't a set timeline for when it will be available again, we recommend checking our website for updates as any new information!

    Can anyone explain how I attach a carabiner to my 500ml flip 2 bottle? It was a recommended additional item but I can’t find any instructions re where or how to attach it to the bottle. Thanks
