Chilly's Original Sports Lid

How best to use the Original Sports Lid?

Before using your sports lid for the very first time, make sure to wash it with hot soapy water, and then once the lid is dry, screw the sports lid onto the bottle to attach it. Now you’re good to go!

When you’re ready to drink, simply twist and pull on the spout at the same time. Be sure to push the spout back down in order to prevent excessive spills.

How do I clean the Original Sports Lid?

We recommend pulling open your lid and cleaning it in hot soapy water before rinsing it and allowing it to dry. Our sports lids are dishwasher safe, however hand washing is more gentle on the material.

Is the Original Sports Lid leakproof?

Our Chilly’s Sports Lids create a very tight seal meaning they are very good at preventing major spills. However, whilst they are extremely good at preventing leaks, we cannot guarantee that they are fully leak-proof.

For this reason, we recommend that you transport your bottle in an upright position when using our sports lids.

Can the Chilly's Original Sports Lid be taken apart?

No, they cannot be taken apart. Our sports lids are all manufactured with silicone seals so taking apart the lid would cause it to break.

What bottles do the Chilly's Original Sports Lid fit onto?

Our sports lids are suitable for all of our 260 and 500ml Original Bottles.

At this moment in time, only the Matte Blue, Monochrome Black and Pastel Green sports lids have a 750ml option available.

*The sports lid is not compatible with the Series 2 range.*

What liquids can I not use the Original Sports Lid with?

Our Original Sports lids are not suitable for use with hot liquids or fizzy drinks.

What material is the Original Sports Lid made from?

Our sports lids are made from three different types of plastic: polypropylene, silicone, and TPE (thermoplastic elastomer). They are completely BPA-free. Please see the diagram below for further information.

My Chilly's Original Sports Lid makes a squeaking noise when I drink from it, what can I do?

The noise you're hearing is air escaping through the valve, this allows air back into the bottle so water can flow out.

• To help alleviate this noise, pull the air valve up and allow it to fall back into position. Repeat up to 10 times.
• We also recommend thoroughly cleaning the inside of the cap with warm, soapy water and also pushing the little silicone valve to the side, and cleaning around it.
• Another trick is to try and avoid inverting the bottle when drinking from it as the air will struggle to escape when liquid is sitting on the valve.

Please be aware that while the above instructions will help to reduce the noise, some noise may still occur as air in the bottle needs to escape.

The capacity of each ice cube cavity is approximately 26ml, which makes 260ml in total.

Chilly's Tea Strainer

How best to use my Chilly’s Tea Strainer?

So you’ve decided to join the loose leaf generation? We can get behind that!

Did you know that many tea bags are made with a sealing plastic called polypropylene? This material is non-biodegradable and non-recyclable, leaving millions of tea bags piled up in landfills (or worse).

Luckily, there is an alternative! Our Chilly’s Tea Strainer is super simple to use. Here’s how:

- Place the strainer into your Chilly’s Coffee Cup.

- Spoon desired tea leaves (vanilla rooibos, anyone?) into the strainer. Chilly’s recommends one heaped spoonful per 340ml cup.

- Fill the cup up with boiling water.

- Allow the tea to steep. The longer the steep, the stronger the tea!

- Using the handles, remove the strainer from the cup. The strainer comes with a handy tray to rest your strainer atop, preventing drips on your tabletop. Please take care when removing, as the handles may be hot.

- To clean, tip the strainer over a bin to remove the tea leaves. Wash or soak immediately after use to avoid staining. 

Which products are Chilly’s Tea Strainers compatible with?

Chilly’s Tea Strainers are compatible with all Original and Series 2 Chilly’s Coffee Cups in all sizes.

What are the dimensions of the Chilly’s Tea Strainer?

The dimensions of the Chilly’s Tea Strainer are as follows:

Our tea strainer fits cups with an internal diameter of between 60mm and 120mm, so it can be used with your favourite Chilly’s Coffee Cup!

How do I clean my Chilly’s Tea Strainer?

Once you have finished using your tea strainer, make sure to empty the leaves into the food refuse bin and wash or soak right away with hot soapy water as this will prevent staining.

Chilly’s Tea Strainers can also be placed in the dishwasher, preferably on the top rack!

How do I re-fold my reusable bag?

Please see the diagram below for guidance on how to fold your reusable bag back into its pouch. Follow the direction of the arrows and fold along the dotted lines.

To help fit the bag back inside the pouch, make sure you push extra air out of the bag as you fold!

Can I buy a gift card?

We have temporarily removed our gift cards from our website as we're currently undergoing some system changes. We're so sorry about this but we hope to have these available again soon.

Does my Chilly's Bottle come with a bag?

The only Chilly's Bottles that come with a microfibre bag are Rose Gold, Gold, and Chrome Silver.

We would recommend keeping these Chilly's Bottles within their microfibre bags when transporting them, as they can sometimes be damaged by things scratching against them.

Do you offer a clip/carabiner for Chilly's Bottles?

Yes, we do! You can find it on the accessories page of our website here.

Please note that the carabiners are only suitable for 260ml & 500ml Original Bottles.

Unfortunately, we do not currently have a 750ml or 1.8L carabiner and the carabiner is not compatible with Series 2 Bottles.

I've lost my O-ring. Can I have a replacement?

Yes, you can purchase spare o-rings on our website here.

Please ensure you have selected the correct size before adding the o-rings to your basket.

We don't currently sell spare o-rings for 1.8L lids. If there is an issue with the seal on your 1.8L lid, please reach out to us at [e-mail]

Can the Stainless Steel Straws be used with hot drinks?

We would advise against using the straw with hot drinks as it is made from stainless steel and can become very hot.
